Web applications and infrastructure expert

We're looking for an expert in web services to work with us in building the glue between our recommendation engine and customers with a wide variety of site types. You'll be working on the server and client sides and should be familiar with at least basic Linux system administration. Knowledge of Java or Python is essential. JavaScript / AJAX is a big bonus. Basic knowlege of C++ and Perl would be handy, but not critical. Links to previous projects, including if possible code samples should be included. Your level of English should be high enough that you're comfortable writing (internal) documentation and doing informal communication with customers.

Internship: Online marketing

If you had a chance to design your own online marketing-campain-on-a-shoestring for our recommendation system, how would you do it?

That's the question we'd like to hear from you on. You'll be working directly with our CEO who has ten years of experience in the web industry. We're open — well, encouraging rather — off-the-wall ideas for making Directed Edge more visible and connecting to customers and the press. You should be fluent in English, knowlege of German is a major plus. If you have links to previous projects, commercial or otherwise, please include those in your mail.

Directed Edge is a young startup based in Berlin, Germany, one of Europe's startup hubs and livliest cities. We're looking for laid back employees and interns to work with us in Kreuzberg, a hip district of central Berlin and home to much of the best of Berlin's arts and music scene.
